The Pyaara Pakistan team are an offline and online community seeking to build (and rebuild) Pakistan’s reputation through education and action. Through physical events, stories, new media and social media, we encourage people to think differently about this country of culture, tradition, richness and beauty.

We aim to stimulate conversation and trade and help the people of Pakistan to reach out, across continents, to touch the hearts and lives of many across the world – creating a positive image for Pakistan, framed around its greatest strengths and creating demand for its finest goods.

The Event

This is all about the ‘experience’ of Pakistan, talk is all well and good, but its hearts that we need to touch…

The public, our guests, will be treated to the sounds, sights, smells (the good ones) , tastes of our Pakistan.

Poetry, prose, music, history, architecture,art and fashion, the pride of Pakistan….

The setting will be a micro reproduction of the centuries old, world famous Anarkali Bazaar.

Named after the famous courtesan ,whose beauty captured the heart of Prince Salim. son of Emperor Akhbar, a tragic love story that ends, so the legend goes, in Anarkali being buried alive in the palace walls, the mere name Anarkali conjures up another world…

The market itself is known to be a magical place, with a multitudee of stalls, fabric,bangles,clothing,music,books,incense and henna.

Stalls at the event,will be manned,populated,stocked by representatives of real businesses here and from Pakistan.

Entertainment will be provided in and around the market, carom board corner, poetry corner, Anarkali’s court, musicians, mehndi (henna art)

Food will be available from stalls in the mini Food St, an area dedicated to Lahores own.Food St.,famous for its range of Pakistan’s finest food, Kebob,Channa Chaat,Lassi,Chai..Kat-e-Kat

In the background there will be playing a selection of our Favourite YouTube videos of Pakistan, the sounds of Anarkali, the traffic, the voices, the call to Mosque.

A slide show of Pakistan’s treasures will run throughout the evening , projected onto the walls….the incredible range of scenery, Mughal architecture, Sufi art ,archaeological sites,Lawrence Gardens,the Bad Shahi Mosque, Mountains…the list goes on.

 

This event is to be a true and powerful representation of the finer aspects of Pakistan.
